We had a lovely three month winter stay at Ajoupa 13. As other reviews have indicated, great location with grocery store nearby, the Fish store at Paynes Bay was a great source of king fis(our fav), mahi mahi, etc. Good grocery store in Holetown at Masseys, plus an upscale grocery store at the back of Limegrove shopping centre. So good sources for food close by and the Ajoupa has everything you need for your own cooking, in addidition, lots of restaurants -Il Tiempo, Bikini Beach close by. The Limegrove shopping Center has a delightful craft store upstairs and a nice theatre, too. But the best entertainment options are the local restaurants that feature steel bands at the beach at Surfside, as one example,
We loved exploring the beaches and snorkeling off Fitts, Batts Rock and Folkestone, all available by bus.
For further afield either rent a car or book a taxi, such as Steve who parks across the street from Ajoupa, safe driver and shares lots of info on the island as you venture off on trips to Harrison Cave and Huntes Garden.
Lots to explore obviously but very pleasant just relaxing by the pool , reading or watching Tv/Netflix. An easy living lifestyle, safe and comfortable for a Canadian couple and the Bajans are friendly and kind. We enjoyed every minute!

Ajoupas #13 was the perfect place for our return to Barbados after 4 years. The location was ideal for reaching many amenities within the area. We did have a vehicle which made it easier but the location is just a short 5-minute walk to the main road where you can catch busses and ZR's to explore the entire island. The townhouse was fitted with everything that we needed and more. The place was very clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Plenty of pots and pans, cooking supplies, dishes, and plates. The place was very spacious. Even the clothes drying line on the upstairs patio was amazing as the rain did not impede on clothes needing to dry. The shower was wonderful due to its great pressure. We only used the pool once. Slyvia's place even had lawn chairs for us to bring to the pool to sit and relax. The entire place was just perfect! I would definitely stay again and recommend it to all family members

Great location, spacious apartment
13 Ajoupa Villas is within easy walking distance from the sea and a supermarket. From the verandah off the bedroom one gets superb views of bird life in the morning and classic sunsets in the evening. We were spoiled for space, with two bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms for the two of us. Everything worked and everything was spotlessly clean. We had one rather unusual problem but the site manager, Marcia, helpfully and charmingly sorted out that and any other questions we had. There is a well maintained pool on site which we used to freshen up in the evenings. Our only wish would have been to have heard less from the flock of chickens whose crowing started well before dawn. This apartment is excellent value and provides a perfect base for exploring the attractions and the beaches of the west coast.

Lovely!!! "

Myself and two friends visited Barbados for a girls holiday and to enjoy the festivities of the crop over season. This villa was exactly what we needed! It looked exactly like the pictures when we arrived with the local supermarket being only a 5 minute walk away (very convenient when shopping for the holiday and even buying snacks). Also, the locals were extremely friendly offering a greeting whenever they saw you - just as everyone else on the island. There is also a nice beach just at the bottom of the road and an even better one in Holetown - less than 15 minutes by the local bus. All in all, the villa was perfect for our needs, well equipt will all the necessary utilities and appliances as well as being local to a lot of local attractions. Thank you for assisting in making our holiday an enjoyable one.

“Fabulous holiday”

We vacationed at Ajoupa 13 for a month this winter. Everything was exactly as advertised. The furnishings in the villa were very classy and everything was well maintained. We asked for a Bar B Q before we left and a new one was there for us upon arrival. Any questions or concerns were quickly answered by Monica. As other reviews have mentioned the roosters will wake you up in the morning but we found out, just close the windows.
Close proximity to the beach and the grocery store is easy walking distance.
We did most of our touring by bus, which was very inexpensive and Bajans were extremely helpful. Barbados is a very safe, beautiful ,friendly island and we hope to return.

Sylvia was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed for our stay in Barbados. The house is nice and located on the west side of the island which is also the most beautiful side. Overall we had a good experience.

Perfect home from home
Myself, husband and 2 daughters have just returned from a 9 day holiday at Ajoupa 13. We had a marvellous time in Barbados and villa provided to be a perfect base in which to explore the island and have as much fun as we did!! The villa is perfect home from home accommodation. Arrangements to gain access to the villa were simple. The rooms were clean and comfortable and equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. Jordans supermarket is at the bottom of the road where we shopped to stock the fridge with drinks and provisions. We found the villa to be secure, modern, clean and comfortable; perfect for a family. We used the buses for the 1st 2 days of the holiday and the bus stop was also at the bottom of the road. The beach is a few minutes walk away and we even had a sea view from the master bedroom!! The resident neighbours were so nice, especially Smilie who lived in the villa right by the pool. He treated us to some coconuts and invited my husband to help him chop them down from his coconut tree and then cut them open for us to drink the milk. The pool is perfect for lazing about before or after a day out exploring the island. We hired a car after a couple of days only because we planned to visit the inner parts of the island, however it is possible to get around to all the major highlights without the use of a car.

Wonderful stay

We had an awesome stay at Ajoupa 13. The property was exactly as shown, very comfortable, very well equipped and clean. Nice grounds and pool area as well. The villa is in a great location about 3 minutes walk from the beach and well stocked Supermarket. Nice touches like the local mobile phone -very handy- just topped it up when we left. We visited Harrison cave, St Nichola Abbey plantation, Animal flower cave, orchid world, Crane beach, Bridgetown city, we went to the cinema in Limegrove mall in Holetown, Oistins night on Friday. We Swam with turtles, snorkeling in Fitt village beach and relaxing at all.... Owner and manager provide us an excellent service. We'd certainly love to come back. We recommend it to family.

Great holiday, already planning the next one!!
Just returned from a wonderful 11 nights in Barbados with 2 friends. We have been visiting the island for many years and have stayed in different self catering accommodations. This was my first time at No.13 Ajoupa villas. Location was great. Situated between Bridgetown and Holetown. Buses available to the rest of the island so it is not necessary to hire a car. The bus stop is located at the end of the road, a good size supermarket is within 5 to 7 mins stroll. 2 local beaches within 5 minutes walk. The bus journey to Holetown takes about 8 mins and run frequently. Holetown has everything you could possibly need for your holiday: large beach with bar/restaurant, Many eateries, bars, shops, luxurious cinema, a massive supermarket, 24 hours medical centre. Accommodation was very clean and felt very much home from home. Ceiling fans and air conditioning throughout (some rentals offer air con in bedrooms only). Kitchen was well equipped with full size cooker, microwave, plenty of utensils and crockery. Washer and dryer. The phone came in very useful with free local calls. Plenty of wardrobe space in the bedrooms and space to put away your suitcases. I feel this accommodation would suit friends, families and couples. Good size well kept communal pool, Parking space right outside villa (if required). Friendly neighbours both within the complex and on the residential street outside. Safe neighbourhood. I highly recommend staying at this villa and am already planning my return later in the year. Selena....London, UK

Fabulous!!!

An absolute gem of a property!! Exactly as described. The house is fully equipped with everything you could possibly want to enjoy your holiday, fully equipped kitchen, washer dryer, microwave, toaster and air conditioning throughout, very comfortable beds, Wi-Fi and cable TV. Beach at the end of the road and access to a lovely pool in the gardens, a perfect place to relax. Car not necessary as the buses pass at the end of the road for a short journey into Bridgetown or Holetown. Local supermarket only 5 mins walk away. Excellent property management and booking process.. I had a very enjoyable stay at the property and will be booking to return very soon. I have found my home from home in Barbados!!
